Jan Svoboda is a bilingual English and Czech ski instructor, race coach, and advanced Oxygen Advantage® instructor. He works internationally across the Alps, Australia, and leading ski resorts worldwide, coaching recreational skiers, youth racers, and future instructors who want tools that hold up in real mountain conditions such as fatigue, cold, altitude, and pressure.
After a severe heel injury and a prognosis that could have ended his career, Jan chose a different path. He rebuilt his performance through breathwork, cold exposure, and focused mental training, and returned to full capacity. These tools did more than restore his skiing, they elevated it and led him to become an Oxygen Advantage® instructor so he could share what is often missing in conventional coaching. This journey inspired him to integrate Oxygen Advantage® principles into skiing, and he is now creating his own ski methodology based on these principles. He uses these tools with athletes every day and believes Oxygen Advantage has a role across all areas of skiing.
Why it matters
Better breathing and state control lead to cleaner turns under pressure, steadier technique when fatigue sets in, improved thermoregulation, and sharper focus in high stress conditions. Jan’s aim is straightforward, to give skiers a simple, practical, reliable methodology so performance holds when conditions are most demanding.
