  • Keep your mouth closed throughout. All breathing here happens through the nose, in and out.
  • Begin to soften and slow each breath. Do not force anything. Just ease off, breath by breath.
  • Gradually reduce how much air you’re taking in until your breathing becomes so quiet that the fine hairs inside your nostrils barely move at all.
  • Let a mild air hunger build naturally. This is a gentle feeling that you’d like slightly more air than you’re currently getting, present on both the inhale and the exhale.
  • Hold this soft, quiet rhythm for three to five minutes. If it ever feels too intense or your breathing becomes rushed or chaotic, pause. Breathe normally for 20 to 30 seconds, then ease back in.
