Patrick and James Nestor have spoken by phone and email for years — but never face to face, until now. In their first in-person conversation, James talks candidly about the years of research and false starts behind Breath, the blunt lesson the publishing world taught him along the way, and why he still can't understand why more doctors aren't talking about breathing. The full conversation will be shared soon. For now, here's a first look.

A few months before setting off for Everest, Pádraig joined Patrick McKeown at our training center in Galway to prepare his breathing for the highest point on Earth. On May 20th, he stood on the summit — part of the first all-Irish team to get there in over 20 years.

Patrick just appeared in a documentary alongside UFC world champions, NFL players, and Marine special forces veterans. Different worlds, different pressures — same discovery: the way you breathe changes everything. Here's what he made of the finished film.

Leonardo led 13 climbers up Kilimanjaro in a single day, using mouth taping and a breathing protocol he designed himself — no prior acclimatization to the mountain. Eight reached Gilman's Point, at 5,685 metres. When his own oxygen saturation dropped to 75%, five minutes of the technique brought it back above 90%.

Two back-to-back trainings, a new centre by the Mediterranean, an unexpected pod of dolphins, and a room full of the people carrying this method forward. Here's what happened behind the scenes at Málaga.
Pavol Grman played professional football in Slovakia and Greece before a career-ending injury changed the direction of his work entirely. Instead of returning to the pitch, he started asking why the training that had built his body hadn't protected it — a question that took him into movement, posture, and eventually breathing.
Today, Pavol is an Oxygen Advantage® Master Instructor for Slovakia and Greece, and co-founder of DEVA PhysioCoaches. He trains coaches, therapists, and healthcare professionals across Central Europe, teaching them to apply Oxygen Advantage principles in their own work — in Slovak, Czech, Greek, and English.
"Most people think breathing is about oxygen. In training rooms, I spend most of my time explaining why that's only half the story."
Pavol's specialty is the Biomechanics of Breathing — how the diaphragm's role as a stabiliser, not just a breathing muscle, connects to posture, core function, and movement. It's a niche within Oxygen Advantage's wider curriculum, and one he's built into a distinct teaching focus across the trainings he leads.
He's brought this work into professional football clubs, the Slovak Football Association, and the Slovak Karate Association — training environments where breathing had rarely been part of the conversation before.
What sets Pavol's teaching apart is who he trains: not only clients looking to move and feel better, but the coaches, therapists, and healthcare professionals who go on to teach others. Every instructor he certifies extends the same principles into new clinics, gyms, and teams across the region.
Training instructors, not just clients
Pavol leads a Refresher session for OA Advanced Instructors on September 8th (10am and 6pm UK/Irish time). Refreshers are monthly, free, and optional — part of the Oxygen Advantage® Advanced Instructor Training (Level 2), led by Patrick and OA Master Instructors on a different topic each time.
