WHY DID I DO THE OXYGEN ADVANTAGE COURSE?
I did the course because I understand the power of breathing techniques for overall physical and mental health. Breathing properly actually helps you make better decisions! I already practice yogic breathing and feel the benefits of that, so I wanted to add to my knowledge of breathwork to have a complete range of techniques to share with others. I also thought this would be a great podcast to add to my alternative health channel where I explain contemporary health related topics in a clear and concise way. Moreover I wanted to ensure my respiratory system was strong enough to deal any covid related issues we may yet encounter. I did the course with Patrick in person in Dubai, not online.
HOW DID IT WORK OUT FOR ME?
I am totally hooked on the oxygen advantage method of breathing and the philosophy and science behind it. It made very good sense to me because it gave me control over how I should breathe and I saw results. I can sleep a bit better now, the breathing also helps me calm down my mind when it’s wandering in all directions. It’s my go to technique when things aren’t working out, it’s my automatic response when any kind of panic arises about anything from something small to very major not going according to plan. I also find I had more stamina while doing any kind of exercise class.
WHY AM I QUALIFIED TO TEACH THIS PHILOSOPHY?
After the intense course with Patrick I did a master class with one of the main trainers, I wrote my own manual, and I also worked with friends and family as my case studies. I also took and passed the required exam, all of which means I can now teach anyone who wants to learn how to breathe a bit better. I focus on helping people incorporate better breathing patterns into whatever their lives look like right now. That in turn will definitely contribute to healthier ways of eating.
MY TYPICAL CLIENT?
I’m happy to work with individuals of all ages whatever their stage of life or fitness levels. I’m particularly keen to help teenagers and young adults breathe better as they have so much stress around exams and leaving home for the first time. But I’m also keen to help older people who might not be fit enough to do exercise and are struggling to lose weight. I’m keen to help anyone who feels “forgotten” and intimidated by conventional health and fitness coaches and regimes. I ask my students to have an open mind and to be committed to learning something new. I’m also happy to teach groups of people and on a one to one basis.
I am currently based in Dubai but was born and brought up in London. I have an MSc from the London School of Economics and used to work as a management consultant for PWC. I now run a successful blog, podcast channel and associated social media where my philosophy is very much about being healthy and happy. I have 2 grown up daughters who both live and work in London.
Both my channels and all their associated social media platforms reflect my principles of balancing MIND, BODY and LIFE whatever your circumstances. I hope I can impart the same enthusiasm as I have for this happy, healthy lifestyle when I meet you.
