About Me
Kurt Breitenstein, M.S., L.Ac.
Kurt's passion is integrating the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the modern science of movement, breathing, and nutrition to help people move better, recover faster, and live healthier lives.
His journey began in 1990 while studying acupuncture in Seoul, South Korea. Upon returning to the United States, Kurt was accepted into the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco, where he earned his Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995. Following graduation, he completed a postgraduate fellowship at ACTCM while continuing advanced studies in orthopedic acupuncture and working at Spring Wind Herbal Company.
In 1996, Kurt returned to his home state of Colorado and established his practice at Washington Park Wellness Center, where he has been helping patients optimize their health for over three decades.
Committed to lifelong learning, Kurt has continued to expand his expertise by combining Chinese Medicine with evidence-based approaches to movement and performance. His advanced certifications include:
Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) CO 346
Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP)
Functional Movement Systems (FMS Levels 1 & 2)
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA Level 1)
StrongFirst Certified Kettlebell Instructor (SFG II)
Oxygen Advantage Advanced Instructor
Kurt believes that the best outcomes come from treating the whole person—not just the symptoms—through a thoughtful combination of acupuncture, movement assessment, breathing techniques, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies.
When he's not in the clinic, Kurt enjoys spending time with his family and friends exploring the mountains, trails, and outdoor adventures that make Colorado home.
