Breath, I’ve learned that it’s a fascinating phenomenon. Everyone, including myself, was born with it, and it keeps you alive. I have it with me 24/7, and I don’t bother think about it. I take it for granted—or rather, seeing it that way… that took some learning. So becoming aware of it again, that’s my greatest gain.
I’ve learned that breathing well—or rather, breathing more optimally—has many benefits for both body and mind. In my Stress and Burnout practice, I often treat people who have been exhausting themselves for a long time and see me as their last resort. I find this quite distressing. Because why didn’t they come sooner, raise the alarm earlier, or why didn’t their environment notice and warn them?
Especially women who may feel trapped in a survival mindset during menopause and think that’s just normal, have my attention.
Unfortunately, there is still too little public knowledge and education about this subject. Sharing that knowledge will therefore be one of my key goals: to talk more about optimal breathing and what it does for you. The earlier we start with this in life, the healthier we’ll grow old(er).
I’m based in Lisse (wellknow for Keukenhof) and, together with my husband, I run our stress and burnout coaching practice, with special attention to breathing and heart coherence.
