Niall McHugo is a Conscious Connected Breathwork Facilitator and Advanced Oxygen Advantage® Instructor based in Ireland. With a background as a former school principal and a lifelong involvement in Gaelic games, Niall understands both the performance demands and mental pressures placed on athletes at all levels.
After experiencing burnout himself, Niall turned to breathwork as a way to rebuild his own energy, resilience, and focus. Integrating the Oxygen Advantage® method became a game-changer — improving recovery, endurance, composure under pressure, and overall performance. The science-based structure of functional breathing now underpins all of his coaching.
Through The Breathwork Project, Niall delivers GAA-specific breathwork sessions to schools, clubs, county squads, and individual athletes, focusing on performance, recovery, and mental strength. His work supports players in improving aerobic efficiency, sprint repeatability, decision-making under fatigue, and emotional regulation during high-pressure moments.
Niall teaches across Ireland (Dublin, Cavan, Meath, Louth and surrounding counties) both face-to-face and online. While he works with athletes across multiple sports, he has a particular passion for supporting GAA players and teams seeking a competitive edge through functional breathing.
