About Me
My name is Rob, I’m a life and performance coach. In my professional life, I’ve worn many hats - infantry officer, humanitarian programme manager and director, battlefield historian and guide, and running through it all, I have been a life and performance coach for over 20 years.
My interest in breathing began as a soldier when we were taught breathing techniques for state management and improved decision making in high stress situations. After 20 years soldiering, I carried these breathing techniques into demanding humanitarian work in West Africa. I first read Patrick McKeown’s work in 2015 and I have explored the relationship between breathing and personal performance since then. My personal interest in functional breathing led to me wanting to incorporate it into my work as a coach - so I completed the Oxygen Advantage Level 1 Functional Breathing and subsequently Level 2 Advanced Instructor certifications. My breathwork certifications sit alongside my leadership, coaching and mentoring qualifications and experience.
I am a keen hiker and Spartan racer and I am enjoying using the Oxygen Advantage in my own training and events, as well as for enhanced focus, resilience and in my own meditation practice.
My coaching work combines Oxygen Advantage techniques with Heroic performance coaching, Multiple Brain Integration Techniques (mBIT) and Adair Action Centred Leadership to empower and encourage my clients to create their future, activate their potential and achieve their goals.
