About Me
Rukmini “Ruki” Roy is a Cognitive Neuroscientist turned Yoga Teacher Trainer and Functional Breathing Instructor who has spent over seven years bridging Eastern wisdom and modern science. With an MSc in Neuroscience and over 2,000 hours of formal training in yogic practices, her work focuses on how yoga and breathing influence health, performance, and overall well-being.
Her approach follows a deliberate middle path, integrating traditional practices with evidence-based methods such as the Oxygen Advantage®. She translates complex physiology into simple, practical tools, helping individuals understand not just what to practise, but why it matters — from a nervous system, health, and performance perspective.
Ruki works with a wide range of clients, including individuals, corporations, athletes, and yoga teachers and practitioners, supporting them in improving breathing efficiency and resilience. She also works with those experiencing common breath-related challenges such as stress, anxiety, poor sleep, fatigue, pelvic floor dysfunction, and inefficient breathing patterns.
Ruki delivers talks and workshops on the science of breath to international audiences, translating complex concepts into accessible and practical insights for the modern practitioner. She teaches both online and in person, working with a global community, helping individuals develop sustainable breathing habits for both daily life and performance.
