About Me
Hello! My name is Victoria Birch and I am from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. On top of being an Oxygen advantage Advanced instructor, I have a Masters in Psychopathology and am also a Holistic Nutritionist and Energy healer.
During my years in the holistic health and wellness space, it has become clear that how you breathe dictates your general health and performance. As a Holistic nutritionist, it is important for me to educate my clients about returning our bodies to a state of parasympathetic state (or rest and digest), so that our nervous systems remain balanced which allows for our food to properly digest and absorb the nutrients our bodies require to thrive. It is important to understand that all of our body systems are interconnected—and it is our breath that helps to keep everything at equilibrium.
The human body is designed to heal itself. But because most people are living in a state of chronic stress, our bodies often hold on to negative thoughts and emotions which ultimately lead to disease if they aren't properly released. Breathwork is a great modality that allows us to bridge the mind and body connection which helps us look at our emotions and become more mindful leading to a healthier mind and body.
The breath is at the top of the totem pole—without functional breathing, we are often unable to regulate our emotions which leads to an overactive nervous system which can lead to problems with our mental health and disease in the body. Implementing a daily practice helps us to train our bodies to remain calm and our highs are not so high, and our lows aren't so low.
