My name is Arav SIngh. I reside in Goa, India.
I am a holistic health coach, mentor, and practitioner. You may ask, what does this mean exactly, and what do you do? Valid questions, wise grasshopper.
Through my tumultuous and epic (I might add) journey traversing upwards, downwards, and sideways spirals while confronting my past, traumas, and engaging in personal development work, I have found that health is multi-dimensional and that different aspects of health practices bleed into each other in meaningful ways. Practices like breathwork, strength training (physical culture), nutritional discipline, meditative practices, and inner work all interface with one another and contribute to the holistic development and expression of one’s health and well-being.
I have suffered from anxiety and other symptoms of mental unrest at certain points in my life. There was a time in my mid to late twenties that was fraught with periods of heavy anxiety and depression; suffice it to say, there was a lot of upheaval in my personal life.
Times like these led me to incorporate practices such as breathwork, yoga, and strength training into my daily life. During the early days of Covid, I stumbled upon The Oxygen Advantage (a book by Patrick McKeown), which added important layers to my understanding of breathwork. It helped me address my everyday breathing, breathing during sleep, and breathing during exercise—all of which proved immensely beneficial. I dove deeper to learn more, gain a better understanding, and offer richer instruction to my clients.
Over the years, my experience in practicing these various disciplines (from breathwork and strength training to inner work and yoga) through the thick and thin—and especially through the thick—has taught me the profound value of cultivating healthy discipline. Ultimately, this discipline I’ve learned has the potential to confer the skill of living with purpose and from one’s power.
I bring knowledge and, perhaps more importantly, wisdom (don’t worry, I’ve checked my hubris at the door!) gained through the application of these myriad practices into my coaching and mentoring programs. I believe that growth is inevitable when we commit to being disciples unto ourselves while also learning to take ourselves a little less seriously.
To your growth in spirit, body, and mind.
Arav.
