A lot of consideration followed and in 2018 I decided that acupuncture would be the best fit and I enrolled with the Acupuncture Foundation, Dublin, and began the 3 years of study. It was a huge challenge for me to balance my job with this course as well as being a Husband and Father at the same time. But that only accentuated the feeling of achievement when I received my qualification in August 2021.
Between graduation and leaving my job in 2023 I practised free of charge with my family and friends developing my diagnosis and treatment skills. In March 2023 Wife was booking a breath retreat in Costa Rica and without any knowledge in the field I said I’d go along with an open mind. To say that this week changed my life is an understatement. It absolutely blew me away how the breath can impact your life so much and the physiological changes that you can make.
When we returned I immediately looked for a course where I could learn more. And in May 2024 I completed the Advanced Instructor Training course with Oxygen Advantage.
I opened my business Matt Dunham Wellness late 2024 where I offer Acupuncture, Dry Needling Breath Coaching [Oxygen Advantage] as well as Reiki healing. I have worked with a diverse set of clients both female and male. Together we look at the full body and work together with a combination of treatments. Often using all modalities in a session!

My main clinic is based in Clarinbridge, Co Galway, but I also offer my services online for Oxygen Advantage and Reiki and I offer Acupuncture and Dry Needling to clients in their homes or place of work.
