I’m Blake Luscombe. currently playing semi Professional hockey. My experience in playing hockey across the world has introduced me to many different lifestyles and cultures, these life experiences have taught me the things I know today. Unfortunately, I tore 3 ligaments in my knee last December and was told my career would most likely be over due to needing a triple reconstruction surgery. I could not accept this prognosis of a career ending injury, so I was determined to find new ways to heal naturally. Through months of rehab, mindfulness practices, cold and heat therapy, I found myself on a good path. I was able to be calm, think positively, and stay thankful. Through my healing journey I then came across the Oxygen Advantage, learning and understanding how the breath truly works. certain exercises helped me tremendously and that’s when I finally understood how to connect the body, mind and spirit as one.
I believe the human body is designed to heal itself. But because most people are living with chronic stress, their bodies often hold on to negative thoughts and emotions which can lead to severe issues. Breath work is a great way to connect the mind, body, and spirit, which can help us look at our emotions and thus become more positive and mindful overall. Ultimately, understanding how to tie in the 3 main aspects (Biomechanical, Biochemical, Psychophysiological) of breathing into your life, we can then learn to train our self to connect and heal the mind, body and spirit as one.
