As far as I can remember, I was always interested in keeping healthy and active. After I retired in 2016, I was compelled to continue learning more about how to maintain my health and quality of life. In the fall of 2022, I discovered James Nestor’s book: “Breath -The New Science of a Lost Art”. That was the launching pad to discover a wide range of literature about the incredible potential of breathing on our health. Early in 2023, I read “The Breathing Cure” by Patrick McKeown. I immediately began practicing some breathing exercises. After a few months, I started to experience benefits. My blood pressure went down, I slept better, my cholesterol levels were even better, psoriasis disappeared…! I was even more surprised when I quickly recovered from a bad bicycle accident. All because my body had the “oxygen advantage”! Keen to share what I’d learned and experienced with the potential of the breath, I took the Functional Breathing course and became certified in February 2024. Today, my goal is to continue learning and deepen my understanding of the power of breath.
I live in southern New Brunswick, Canada, and am fluent in English and French. I want to share about the potential of Functional Breathing with any group. I am particularly interested in working in small group settings with anyone who wants to develop new breathing habits and improve quality of life.
