The ultimate reciprocal relation we, as humans, have with the natural world is through our breath. As we take a breath in, Mother Earth is exhaling. As we breathe out, Mother Earth is inhaling. The breath is the cornerstone of all that we do – it’s the first action we take in the world and will ultimately be our last – taking a breath.
But all too often we take our breath for granted. We can go for weeks without food, days without water but barely a couple of minutes without taking a breath. Yet we pay more attention to the food and drink we consume than we do to how we breathe. And that’s where I and the Oxygen Advantage programme comes in.
