I am also interested in sound making for health, which includes learning and teaching overtone singing, and am currently helping write and edit a book to be published by the NCVS called Vocalization for General Health.

Liz has a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Mental Health Work from the University of Illinois, a Master’s in Music in Vocal Performance from Belmont University, a Certificate in Vocology from NCVS and the University of Utah. She is also a PAVA Recognized Vocologist (PAVA-RV). Liz was a faculty member at Vanderbilt University as the Jazz Voice Instructor at the Blair School of Music, and has also held teaching positions at Belmont and Trevecca Nazarene Universities. Currently, she owns a private voice studio in Nashville, TN. Liz serves as the Certificate Coordinator for the Nashville Jazz Workshop, where she also teaches and co-directs the Jazz Set Weekend Intensives for Singers. In addition to teaching, she is also a jazz musician, both singing and playing saxophone, composing, and has recorded 5 full length CD projects. She serves on the Ethics Committee for PAVA and on the executive Board for the NCVS.
