Rhonda McCroryWEST FARGO, ND | USA
Hi, my name is Rhonda and I have been a registered dental hygienist for over thirty years and I’m also pursuing certification in orofacial myofunctional therapy. This involves dysfunctional habits and disorders of the head and neck region, including dysfunctional breathing patterns. I have watched small children with allergies and asthma grow into teenagers adding anxiety and depression to their health issues. As they mature into adults, I see them add high blood pressure, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, obstructive sleep apnea, etc. to their list of maladies. Each day I observe many structural issues in the mouth and nose that create maladaptive habits-the most prevalent is dysfunctional breathing. It usually happens so gradually over the years that it is never even noticed, let alone addressed.
My journey to uncover the connections between structural issues and maladaptive habits led me to The Oxygen Advantage book and the realization that correct breathing is the number one regulator of overall health and well-being. Without correct breathing, our body and mind will eventually pay the price. It is so gratifying when clients come back and are excited because they truly notice a difference in how they feel, which in turn affects so many other aspects of their lives-friends, family, jobs, hobbies, etc. Breathing is so basic to life, yet it’s easy to take for granted. My goal is to educate and train individuals to optimize their breathing for overall health and athletic performance.
I look forward to helping you begin this journey to a healthier way of life, either in private or small group sessions!
