Tuko Maia is from Porto Alegre, Brazil and is 49 years old and married with 3 children. He moved to Australia in 2004. 

Tuko is a Maitre d’Armes (Master Fencing Coach) for the International Fencing Federation (FIE) and works as an Exercise Physiologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital – in the Mental Health unit. He holds a Bachelor in Sport Science and post-graduate qualifications in Sports Administration. As an athlete Tuko was the 2005 Australian and Oceania Epee Champion and has also been 3 times Brazilian Open Epee Champion.

Recently Tuko was selected as an Official for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympics’ Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is Also an International Classifier for IWAS – International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation.

He is also the President of Beach Tennis WA, responsible for developing Beach Tennis here in Australia. Tuko has participated in many boards in different associations: Fencing, Modern Pentathlon, Beach Tennis.

Since graduated as Advance Certified Coach for OA, Tuko has implementing those techniques in all areas from Mental Health to High Performance athletes. Training can be done online or in person, please DM him for more information.

He also does online consulting with clients in Brazil, Italy and countries of Spanish language.
